Toddler Beds Online

Toddler beds are a great way to transition your baby from the crib into an actual bed of his own. We chose to use a toddler bed for our little boy close to the time when he was going to be turning two years old because we had another baby on the way. There is an effective method to helping your toddler adjust to sleeping in a bed versus the crib that he is used to. We followed several steps and the advice of parents we found who wrote about their adventures online. It was a stressful time for all of us, but over the course of a month he was fully adjusted and was sleeping through the night in his new toddler bed with no problems or issues.
One of the pros (but can also be considered a con) of the toddler bed, is that it takes a standard crib mattress. So since our son was used to his crib mattress, we just transferred his crib mattress into the toddler bed frame and we were good to go. We did not have to buy additional bedding for it since it takes standard crib sheets. I did find that Target sells very cute toddler bedding sets that come complete with a flat sheet, fitted sheet, pillow case, and comforter. They are perfect for kids because they come in all kinds of themes like sports, flowers, cars, trucks, and more. The price was a little high for my budget, so instead my mom just made a pillow case and flat sheet for his bed which worked perfectly. Then for Christmas, his aunt gave him a huge fluffy blanket with the Disney Cars theme and he loves it. My cousin had sent us a small pillow embroidered with his name and birth date on it in blue as a gift when he was born. When he was sleeping in the crib we did not let him use it since you are not supposed to use pillows in the crib. I used to use it to prop my arm up when I was feeding him a bottle in the glider. So although we did not actually use it for him as a baby, it was the perfect sized pillow for him to use in his toddler bed.
Some parents do not like the idea of a toddler bed and instead they buy a convertible crib for their baby. This is fine if you only plan on having one baby, but if you are going to have more than one baby, you will eventually need another crib. I think it makes more sense to use a toddler bed for the older child, then keep the crib set up in the nursery for the next baby. Then as the toddler gets too big for the toddler bed and the baby is ready to move into it, you shift the toddler to another room with a single or double bed and use bed rails and the baby can move into the toddler bed freeing up the crib for another baby if you choose to have a third child. I am a big proponent of toddler beds because I think they are fun for the child and they make things easy for the parents.
