Ovulation Calendar

My husband and I were having trouble getting pregnant until I found an ovulation calendar online. It is an incredible fertility tool that every woman should know about. All you need to do is find one on the internet and then type in the date of your last menstrual period. From there, the calendar will show you your most fertile days and those are the days you and your partner need to have intercourse to maximize your chances of becoming pregnant. Most women tend to ovulate around day fourteen of their cycles, but this can vary greatly. Good advice to follow is to plan on having intercourse beginning on day ten and then every other day until ovulation is confirmed or your cycle starts again. You may think that the more often you have sex, the higher your chance of becoming pregnant, but this is a myth. The man needs approximately twelve to twenty four hours for his sperm to accumulate again and thus the day off in between becomes beneficial.

An ovulation calendar is just one tool you can use to achieve pregnancy, but in combination with other tools, you maximize your chances each month. Another great product is the ovulation predictor kit which you can purchase in any pharmacy. It comes in a digital format these days which is easier to interpret than the ones that just show one or two lines. You simply wake up each morning and dip a test strip into a small amount of urine to see if you are approaching ovulation. I highly recommend using an ovulation predictor kit along with noting which are your most fertile days on your ovulation calendar.

The ovulation calendar is not only helpful in predicting when you could become pregnant, but also it aids in showing you when you might be able to expect to see a positive result on a pregnancy based on the day of your ovulation. A woman’s menstrual cycle is generally twenty-eight days, give or take a day or two. Ovulation usually occurs around day fourteen and then if pregnancy was not achieved that month then the cycle starts again on or about day twenty-eight to thirty. Pregnancy tests on the market today are very sensitive and many are able to detect pregnancy very early. They advertise on the front of the packaging that you can test for pregnancy as early as five or six days before your expected period. That would be on day twenty-three to twenty-five. Although sometimes when you test that early you could see a negative result when you are actually pregnant, you just tested too early and the test was not able to detect enough of the pregnancy hormone in your urine even though a small amount was actually present.

If you are hoping to achieve pregnancy quickly, then I recommend looking up your ovulation calendar online to use as a guide. It worked for me; hopefully it can work for you too! And if you happen to be bipolar and pregnant, there are resources out there which can be helpful. Working with your doctor though is the best advice anyone can give you when you are living with a mental illness and trying to have a baby.
