Diaper Bag Reviews

Your diaper bag will become the only handbag you carry once you have a baby. There are so many diaper bags on the market today, it is hard to choose the best one. But if you make a list of what is important to you in a diaper bag, then it helps to narrow down your choices and ultimately make a good decision for you. There are tons of diaper bags today which are just as stylish as the hottest new handbag. Many of them come with great accessories too, like changing pads and pacifier pods. You just have to search for a good one.
When I first was shopping for a diaper bag, I didn’t know where to start. I did some online searches and found that Skip-Hop was a big diaper bag retailer. I liked the fact that most of their diaper bags were reasonable in price (around $60 or so) and that most of them had cool fasteners that allow you to easily attach your diaper bag to your stroller so that it doesn’t take up room in the storage basket of your stroller. The other great thing about Skip-Hop’s diaper bags is that they have tons of useful pockets so that you can organize your diaper bag and not lose things. The one that I ended up buying was the Duo bag. It has two big pockets in front, two side pockets which are great for bottles or even my own water bottle if I’m not carrying two bottles, a back pocket which holds the changing pad that it comes with – and that’s just the outside pockets! The inside of the bag has one shallow but wide pocket which I found was great for my keys and cell phone. Then there are four big pockets on the inside. I used one of those for diapers and diaper cream and the other for my plastic wipes container. Then I had two pockets free for whatever else I was carrying – usually a change of clothes for my baby and my wallet. Plus, in addition to those four interior pockets, there is space in the center of the inside of the bag for other stuff like burp cloths and your baby’s security blanket. It is a great diaper bag in my opinion and it comes in so many colors. I ended up going with a basic tan color which matches my stroller. I figured my husband would not mind carrying a neutral bag either.
If you are more fashion-conscious and want a higher-end bag, Coach makes a beautiful diaper bag and it comes in different patterns every season. It looks like it has a bunch of great pockets, but to me it’s too trendy. The material it is made of is also very rigid looking, and I prefer a softer looking material. I don’t really like its straps either. I think that a diaper bag needs to have straps that are easy to throw over your shoulders.
Vera Bradley makes a nice diaper bag which is a shoulder bag and comes in tons of different colors and patterns. It is a roomy bag with some good pockets, but not as big as the pockets in the Skip-Hop bags. Vera Bradley also makes a backpack-style diaper bag which I hear is awesome – especially from moms of more than one baby. It seems very convenient to be able to throw your diaper bag on your back which would free up your hands for your kids. I think next time I am shopping for a new diaper bag I will go with a backpack style. Can’t go wrong there!
